Gas stoves and electric stoves fail in very different ways and require very different diagnostic approaches. On a gas stove, a clicking burner that will not light is most often caused by a wet or dirty igniter cap that needs cleaning, a worn spark electrode, or a failed spark module. A burner that clicks continuously — even when every knob is off — is almost always a stuck igniter switch behind the affected knob, sometimes triggered by spilled liquid that found its way down the shaft. Both problems are fixable on the first visit.
On an electric coil-top stove, a dead burner usually means a burned-out coil element, a corroded receptacle block that the coil plugs into, or a failed infinite-switch behind the knob. Coils and receptacles are inexpensive and we stock them for every common Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire, Hotpoint and Kenmore model. Radiant-glass cooktops are slightly more involved: we have to remove the cooktop assembly to access the heating elements, and a cracked glass surface usually means the entire cooktop has to be replaced. We will tell you up front which path is cheaper.
Safety is non-negotiable on gas stoves. If you smell gas at the cooktop, do not use the appliance — call us and we will dispatch immediately. We carry a calibrated combustible-gas detector on every truck and will isolate the leak to the supply line, regulator, or burner valve before we leave. We also pressure-test the manifold after every gas-valve replacement.
We service freestanding gas and electric ranges, slide-in models, drop-in cooktops, induction cooktops and professional-style ranges from Viking, Wolf, Thermador and Bertazzoni. Spark modules, oven igniters, surface igniters, infinite switches, valve assemblies, and burner caps are stocked on every van for the brands we see most often in Broward County. Whether you live in a high-rise condo on Las Olas Boulevard or a single-family home in Plantation, call (954) 245-6863 and we will get a technician out today.
One final note: never attempt to repair a gas appliance yourself. State and county code requires that anyone working on a gas-burning appliance be qualified to do so. Beyond the legal issue, an improperly tightened gas fitting or a damaged manifold can leak slowly for days before catastrophe strikes. Pay the small service fee, have it done right, and sleep at night.
We dispatch to every major city in Broward County including Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, Plantation, Sunrise, Davie and more.
